Testing

Granite State College offers several programs that provide students the opportunity to gain college credit for knowledge acquired through independent study. Demonstrated competencies will be recognized through the following testing programs:

CLEP
College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams are available in 34 college-level introductory subjects. They are administered at Granite State College Learning Centers and are computer-based. The total cost for each CLEP exam is $95. DSST
DSST exams offer more than 37 test titles in the areas of Social Science, Business, Mathematics, Applied Technology, Humanities, and Physical Science. They are administered at Granite State College Learning Centers and are paper- and pencil-based. The total cost for each DSST exam is $100. Excelsior
Students may choose from 40 exams in the arts and sciences, business, nursing, and education, many offering upper-level credit. Excelsior College Examinations are not offered at Granite State College Test Centers but are offered at the Prometric Technology Center located at 200 Griffin Road in Portsmouth, NH (603-433-6800). For additional test locations, visit www.2test.com.

ACE-evaluated Examinations
Many other examinations have been evaluated by ACE (American Council on Education) and may be taken for college credit. These include but are not limited to: examinations on oral competency in foreign languages, various information technology and computer skills, business, automotive service, electronic technician, and drug and alcohol counseling.
