Cost of Attendance

The Cost of Attendance (COA), also known as the student’s budget, is an estimate of educational and related expenses incurred during your period of enrollment. The federal government defines allowable costs that may be included in a school’s cost of attendance. Granite State College’s cost of attendance is broken down into the following two categories:

  • Direct Costs : include tuition and fees (charges that appear on your student account)
  • Indirect Costs: include books/supplies, transportation, living expenses, and personal expenses

Summer 2010
Resident: $250 per credit                                             Non-Resident: $265 per credit

Fall 2010, Winter and Spring 2011
Resident: $260 per credit                                             Non-Resident: $275 per credit
($1040 per 4 credit course)                                          ($1100 per 4 credit course)

Fees
$65 per term ($25 registration fee, $40 academic service fee)

Allowable additional budget costs may be approved by the Director of Financial Aid on a case by case basis. Students are required to provide specific supporting documentation such as signed student statements, receipts, copies of statements, 3rd party documentation, etc. Additional documentation, signed student statements, etc. may be required upon review of an individual student’s request before any additional budget category is approved.

  • Dependent Care
    The actual cost of child care for students during periods that include, but not limited to, class time, study time, field work, internships, and commuting time for the student.
  • Disability Allowance
    These expenses include special services, personal assistance, transportation, equipment, and supplies that are reasonably incurred and not provided by other agencies.
  • Computer Allowance
    The actual documented cost for a computer may be added, but the purchase must have occurred no earlier than 90 days prior to the request.
