Our Faculty Resource Center is designed to respond to faculty-identified needs. You will find best practices for teaching and learning submitted by faculty. Additional contributions are always welcome. Our Faculty Handbook also provides a wealth of information about your role at the college.

Adult Higher Education Alliance
The Adult Higher Education Alliance (AHEA) is an association of people from across the country who are engaged in action learning, reflection, and discussion as teachers and administrators. The Alliance is united by commitment to adult students, adult education professionals, alternative degree programs for adults, and research supporting adult higher education.

Granite State College is an institutional member of the Alliance and subsequently staff and faculty enjoy membership benefits. The AHEA website contains rich resources in it's collection of research papers and best practices for working with adult learners at www.ahea.org.

Guidelines for Prior Learning Assessment This booklet has been prepared to assist you in the task of participating as an evaluator in the Assessment of Prior Learning for Granite State College degree candidates. It provides an overview of the process; an explanation of your role as evaluator, guidelines and criteria to be used, a general description of what happens during an assessment team meeting and some techniques that may be used in the evaluation process.

Sourcebook for Learners with Disabilities
Under College, federal, state, and local laws, reasonable accommodations are provided to qualified learners with a disability(ies). A qualified individual is a person who with or without reasonable accommodations can meet essential program or course requirements. This Sourcebook is an initial effort to provide information to help you work with adults with varying needs.
