Our Faculty
 In
addition to being skilled teachers, our faculty are often working
professionals. Their breadth of experience, combined with small class
sizes, allows students to be fully engaged with the subject matter. Meet Chris Lewey, a faculty member in our Conway Region.
Chris Lewey is a naturalist by profession and teaches biology,
ecology and ornithology at GSC. In his experiences, in the environment
and in the classroom, Chris is surrounded by constant growth, as well
as the effects of change. Perhaps that’s why he loves teaching as much
as being outdoors. “My students are practicing professionals coming
back into the classroom. Things do change—like the seasons, the need
to advance in your job, qualify for better pay, or gain independence. My advice for successful growth? Build on your
experiences, learn from other practicing professionals, and you’ll be rewarded for your efforts.”
Executive Director and Founder of RAVEN Interpretive Wildlife Programs, Chris holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Studies from
Antioch University. He currently leads natural history tours for
RAVEN, as well as the Maine Audubon Society, Smithsonian Study Tours,
and the National Wildlife Federation.
