The University of New Hampshire (UNH) is New Hampshire's flagship public research university, providing comprehensive, high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs. Founded in 1866 and receiving its charter as the University of New Hampshire in 1923, the University combines teaching, research, public service and creative expression to shape a collaborative learning environment that is especially rich for its students and faculty. From its main Durham campus in New Hampshire's seacoast region, its urban campus in Manchester, the NHPTV broadcast center, the University's laboratories on the seacoast and Mount Washington, and its many cooperative extension sites, UNH serves New Hampshire and the region through applied research, continuing education, cooperative extension, cultural outreach, and economic development activities.
