Our program leads to certification from the New Hampshire Department of Education. It is open to qualified participants who have a bachelor's degree, a 3.0 GPA and passing PRAXIS scores. Candidates for an advanced endorsement as a Reading & Writing Specialist must hold a current teaching certification in another area. Candidates for an advanced endorsement in Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities and/or Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (formerly known as Mental Retardation) must be certified in General Special Education.
This certification program is designed to deliver an alternative route to certification for those who are already working as teachers or paraprofessionals at a New Hampshire approved field site, public or private. There are two distinct components to this program:
Field-based
|
Competency-basedThose who obtain certification through our program come to us with a variety of educational and employment experiences. However, to meet the requirements for certification, each person must complete a baccalaureate degree program. If you do not already possess a degree and 30 hours in a content area, please Contact Us. This competency-based program allows for the individualization of programming within the framework of a structured curriculum. |
