Getting Started

Once you have registered for an online course, there are several things you can do to make your learning experience a good one. Here are some guidelines and resources to help you succeed.

  1. Information on your course can be found on the OIC Courses pages of our website. These pages contain information on your textbooks, how to log in to your course, face-to-face classroom requirements (if any) and your instructor. The course syllabus will be posted here approximately 3 weeks before classes start.
  2. Purchase your textbooks at MBS Direct. OICs are listed under Statewide and Online. Be sure to check your Course and CRN number to get the correct texts.
  3. Set up your Browser. There are specific settings needed for you to access your course, email and WebRock. Check MyGranite - Help: Browser Settings for more information.
  4. Log into MyGranite. For details on how to set up and login go to MyGranite - Help: Login & Password Information
NOTE: Your online course will be listed under My Blackboard Courses on the Wednesday before classes start. You will not see your course until that time.
  5. Set up your GSC email. For details on how to login and set up your GSC email go to MyGranite - Help: GSC Email
