What is "Osher"? "Osher" refers to the Bernard Osher Foundation, which initially funds more than 100 lifelong learning programs throughout the United States. The Osher Foundation has awarded Granite State College a grant to establish this program for adults over 50.
What are some examples of OLLI programs? OLLI members choose the topics they wish to explore and educational offerings may be different from community to community. Arts, literature, music, history, technology (computers), world and local events, healthy aging, and environmental issues are all very popular with OLLI members.
When are OLLI programs held? Most OLLI programs are planned for daytime hours. Courses, lectures, or workshops usually occur once a week for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Members may also choose a different schedule if it's more appropriate for a particular activity.
Where are OLLI programs held? Programs may be held in classrooms at Granite State College learning centers or at other community sites that are safe and easily accessible - in Manchester, Concord and the Seacoast area.
Do I have to become a member to take a class? Yes. Annual OLLI membership is only $35.00. Once you are a member, you may take as many classes as you wish.
Do members have to register for programs? Yes. You can register for programs when you send in your membership, or contact us after you've become a member. Either way, it is important to register as early as possible for each session you select as registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
