| Michelle Capozzoli, Ph.D, Program Director for the M.S. in Project Management
Dr. Michelle Capozzoli, the Program Director for the Master's degree program in Project Management at Granite State College, received her BS in Mathematics from Bridgewater State College and her MS and Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of New Hampshire. Prior to joining the college, she was an Assistant Professor at Framingham State College and a Nonclinical Statistician at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Her experience in both industry and academia helped her create a teaching philosophy centered on action learning. This philosophy led her to incorporate project based learning in her classroom. In April of 2009, Dr. Capozzoli received the “President's Good Steward Award” through the Campus Compact of New Hampshire for her collaboration with the Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce on community project based learning. |

| Johnna Herrick-Phelps, Ph.D, Program Director for the M.S. in Leadership
Dr. Johnna Herrick-Phelps is the Program Director for Graduate Leadership Studies at Granite State College. Prior to joining the college, she was principal of JH Phelps & Associates Consulting for seventeen years. During this time she worked with public and private organizations in the areas of leadership development, executive coaching, change management, strategic planning, and diversity in the workplace. Her book Seen but not Heard: The implemented strategies and situational factors executive women use to be heard by their male colleagues in the workplace was published in 2007. Dr. Herrick-Phelps’ teaching philosophy is learner oriented and involves a mix of instructional approaches that she tailors to fit each teaching and learning situation. She believes exposing learners to an array of instructional strategies and contexts contributes to expanding their learning potential and helps to open them to new ways of thinking. She teaches a variety of courses at Granite State College. Dr. Herrick-Phelps holds a M.S in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College, an M.A. in Human Development and a Ph.D in Human and Organizational Development Systems from Fielding Graduate University. |

| Gina Abudi, M.B.A.
Gina Abudi, MBA has over 20 years of consulting experience in helping businesses of all sizes develop and implement strategy around projects, processes and people. She also works closely with a variety of clients to develop and deliver customized workshops, seminars and training programs to meet long term strategic needs. Gina is President of Abudi Consulting Group, LLC (www.AbudiConsulting.com) and adjunct faculty at Granite State College (NH) in the Master’s degree program in Project Management and at Hesser College (NH) in the undergraduate program in Business Administration. She teaches online, blended, and face-to-face programs. Gina is a professional speaker and keynote at a variety of conferences, forums and corporate and industry events on a variety of topics. She writes a number of white papers, case studies, and articles on various management and project management topics, which can be found on her blog: www.GinaAbudi.com. She is co-author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Best Practices for Small Business (Alpha Books, 2011) and contributing author to Gantthead’s Project Pain Reliever (J. Ross Publishing, 2011). Gina serves as President of the PMI® Massachusetts Bay Chapter Board of Directors. She has been honored as one of the Power 50 from PMI® - one of the 50 most influential executives in project management, working to move the profession forward. She is Co-Chair of the NEHRA Program Committee and an active member of The Boston Club, serving on the Membership Committee, the Corporate Relations Committee and as an Ambassador to new members. | Kristen Bequeath, M.S.
Kristen has worked in the telecom industry for more than fifteen years in a variety of roles. She has worked and led operations through major initiative and change projects including a cut over from Verizon Communications to FairPoint Communications in 2009. She brings labor management experience to the classroom as well as many other management skills. Kristen earned both a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.S in Organizational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University. She is currently in the Doctoral Leadership program with Franklin Pierce University. Kristen brings a practical method to the classroom where she brings assignments that will provide the ability to leave Granite State College with the tools to be successful in any role. Aligning with the GSC philosophy with adult learners Kristen works with students to build a portfolio that infuses confidence and ability to bring into any business segment. | Christopher Brooks, M.Ed.
Brooks holds a B.A. in European history from Gordon College. He went on and received an MA in European history with an emphasis on the history of ideas from the University of Maryland in 1996. Two years later, Brooks also earned an MEd from the University of New Hampshire in secondary education, with a specialization in the philosophy of education. Brooks has taught leadership, philosophy and history at the high school, undergraduate and graduate level for the past seventeen years. Currently, Brooks holds many different positions. Besides his appointment as a philosophy teacher in an advanced senior level college credit program at Souhegan High School in Amherst, NH, Brooks is currently a professor of leadership at Northeastern University in the school’s graduate leadership program in Boston, MA. Since accepting a position at Northeastern in 2007, Brooks has taught in Australia at Swinburne University’s College of Business and Enterprise in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia as a senior fellow and has mentored and taught at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA through Northeastern’s leadership program. Including his work with GSC, Northeastern University and Souhegan High School, Brooks is also teaching philosophy at both Merrimack College in North Andover, MA and the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester, NH. In the last ten years, Brooks has devoted his research attention and studies to the teaching of philosophy in many different educational and consulting arenas. Brooks has worked in conjunction with the University of New Hampshire as a teacher mentor and taught philosophy, ethics and history at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH and Chester College of New England. He was awarded the 2002 Humanities Teacher of the Year Award in the state of New Hampshire. In addition, he received a NH state Excellence in Education award in 2003. In 2009, Brooks founded a statewide philosophy organization for high school students (HYPE) held every year working with the University of New Hampshire, GSC, St. Anselm College and Hesser College. Focused on leadership development, particularly ethics and citizenry development, Brooks has received additional NH state awards and grants connected with his work in ethics, leadership and civic education. He has had the opportunity to consult and present workshops at the local, national and international level.

| Robert Allen Christensen, M.A., C.A.G.S., C.P.M.
Bob Christensen is Administration Manager for the NH Department of Safety’s Division of Emergency Service’s and Communication. He was formerly Toll Manager for the NH DOT’s Bureau of Turnpikes, Town Administrator, Weare, NH, headmaster of Boxford Academy, Boxford, MA, and senior pastor of Christ Community Church, Weare, NH. Additionally, Bob teaches humanities and leadership studies at the graduate and undergraduate levels at multiple colleges including Hesser College and Granite State College. Bob is currently working on a Doctor of Arts in Leadership Studies degree at Franklin Pierce University. He holds the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies degree in educational leadership from Plymouth State University, Master of Arts in Religion degree from Liberty University, Bachelor of Science in general studies from Liberty University, and post graduate of theology diploma from Boston Baptist College. He is a Certified Public Manager and holds Human Resources Certification as well as Lean Process Improvement credentials through the State of NH’s Bureau of Education and Training. |

| Carrie Gendreau, M.S.
Carrie Gendreau was born and raised in Littleton, NH. She currently lives in Littleton with her husband Bill. She also has a married daughter, Emmalee, who is now living in Ohio. Carrie is a Dale Carnegie Course Trainer since 1985. She earned her Master’s Degree in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College in 2001. She is the founder and trainer of The Training Connection. The Training Connection designs custom professional development programs for various organizations in New England. Carrie, since 1994, has been teaching Interpersonal, Small Group, and Presentational Communications as an adjunct Professor at Granite State College. She owns Emma & Co. Consignment Boutique in Littleton. Carrie gives back to her community by serving as a director on various non-profit boards. She has written a variety of articles for National and local publications. She is the contributing author and editor of Wit and Wisdom from the Front Porch and contributing author of Trainer’s Warehouse Book of Games. |

| Susan Hansen, Ed.D.
Susan M. Hansen holds a doctorate in Human Development and Education from Boston University; a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. Susan is also a certified Rosen Method Practitioner and Massage Therapist. Susan has taught graduate courses in Higher Education Leadership at San Jose State University, where she was also an administrator, serving as Executive Director and Chief Housing Officer of the University Housing Services Program for fifteen years. Susan is currently an adjunct faculty member for Doctoral Dissertation review at the California Institute for Integral Studies and has served on accreditation teams for WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) for Educational Effectiveness and Capacity & Preparatory Review. Susan has been an associate consultant with a variety of consulting groups focusing on higher education related to self-reviews, strategic planning, best practices, and future trends. She currently serves as Executive Director at Center for Wildlife, a non-profit 501(c) 3 in Cape a Neddick, Maine. As an adjunct faculty at Granite State College, Susan teaches COMM 800: Foundations of Organizational Communications and LD 821: Ethical Decision-Making. |

| Mark Jewell, N.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Mark Jewell is an Adjunct Instructor in the Graduate Leadership Studies at Granite State College. He currently holds the position of Bureau Chief, overseeing the Welfare to Work Program for the NH Department of Health & Human Services, Division of Family Assistance. His management experience spans over 32 years in both for-profit and non-profit settings. In addition, he has 15-plus years teaching at various colleges throughout New Hampshire; predominately in the field of Organizational Management, Leadership, and Human Service Systems. Dr. Jewell’s teaching philosophy is to bring a realistic perspective of practice to the classroom, coupled with the philosophy and foundations of organizational theory and management. He uses an open style instructional method, relying on discussion, exercises, and reflection by his students. He believes that in order for a person to effectively learn, they first need to synthesize the information provided, and then draw from their own conclusions and insights. Dr. Jewell possesses a B.S. in Human Services, an M.S. in Human Service Administration, and two post-graduate degrees in Naturopathy, and Holistic Health. |

| Stephen Lajoie, M.B.A.
Stephen Lajoie is currently serving as a Manager of Preconstruction Services for The MacMillin Company in Keene, NH. His past professional experience includes: Senior Subcontracts Administrator at Nobis Engineering in Concord, NH, Manager of Estimating and Purchasing at Bond Brothers Construction in Everett, MA and Purchasing Agent at Gilbane Construction, Bedford, NH. Stephen has found that the best way to learn is through experience. He engages students in a variety of activities that will enhance their understanding and retention of the information that they are presented in class and in texts. The more practical applications and experiences he can provide, the better the learning. Humor is always good too. | David Lendry, M.B.A., P.M.P.
David Lendry is a graduate-degreed Project Management Professional (PMP) with over 20 years of progressive experience in program and project management, project portfolio management from inception to deployment, leadership, team building, financial and administrative aspects of business, information technology systems, telecommunications, and international business. He is recognized as a subject matter expert in Project Management and Portfolio Management, speaking at multiple industry forums. David's classes are intended to be interactive, as class participation greatly enhances learning. Each week David's goal is to get students where they will have the opportunity to apply what they've learned in classroom immediately in their careers. David earned an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Nichols College. |

| Dennis Martino, M.Ed.
Dennis is the former Director of the NH Bureau of Education and Training. He has taught leadership courses on the graduate level at several colleges. Prior to his current academic work he had twenty-one years’ experience in Labor Relations as a union advocate and contract negotiator. He resides in Hopkinton, New Hampshire. His Civic affiliations include being Clerk of the Board of Directors for the Belknap – Merrimack Community Action program, Treasurer of NH Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health, and President of the NH Association of Certified Public Managers. Dennis earned his BA in Sociology at St. Anselm College, Manchester, NH, his M. Ed. At Rivier College, and received Labor Education and Training from the George Meany Labor Center, Silver Springs Maryland. Mary Beth McNicholas has over 25 years of project and program management experience in health care, insurance, manufacturing and professional services industries overseeing large, complex ERP application implementations, transformation and Merger and Acquisition programs. Mary Beth's Project Management teaching philosophy centers around her belief that PM is learned best using a hands-on approach where students experience the application of PM skills and techniques in the classroom or online course work. | Paul Paquette, J.D., M.B.A.
Paul’s professional experience includes being a Technical Project Manager, Licensed Attorney, member of the New Hampshire Association, and being an engineer. He earned his JD from Franklin Pierce Law Center, his MBA from Boston College and his BS from Southern New Hampshire University. He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society in the Boston College Chapter and received his Graduate Project Management Certificate from Bentley College. “Since I earned my B.S. and M.B.A while attending school during the evenings and while raising a family, I know what it is like to juggle work, school and personal matters. I therefore have a close connection with my non-traditional students. I also feel that it is important to blend a mix of theory with practical learning in my classes. So, I believe that real life examples are an essential component of the learning process. | Kathleen K. Roth, D.B.A.
Dr. Kathleen Roth has more than 12 years of experience as a management consultant in both public and private sectors. Most recently, she held an executive level position in a multi-million dollar, privately held company, where she managed a $10 million business portfolio containing multiple military family support, behavioral health, and educational service programs and projects. Her management consultant career includes managing multi-million dollar projects as a business developer and leader of strategic communications and change management business units. Prior to her management consultant career, Dr. Roth served in the U.S. Army and retired with 25 years of service as a Lieutenant Colonel. Dr. Roth views teaching as a lifelong learning experience. She perceives her job in the classroom is to intellectually stimulate students to have a thirst for knowledge, critical thinking, and questioning the unknown. She strives to impart both theoretical constructs and practical application of new concepts so that students can actively apply their learning. Kathleen views teaching as a privilege and values classroom diversity of thought and mastery of skill. Kathleen earned a DBA in Management from the University of Sarasota, an EdM in Education from Boston University, a Secondary Education Teacher’s License from North Carolina, and a BS in Education, Campbell University. She is a certified change management practitioner. Her many years of teaching experience, proven capacity to lead large-scale projects, and demonstrated ability to work collegially make her an excellent addition to the GSC faculty. Her project management skills and knowledge greatly contribute to GSC student success in the courses she instructs including PM801, PM805, PM806, and PM808. |

| Kathleen Smee, M.A.
Kathleen Smee has over 20 years in Education. Ms. Smee develops and designs corporate training programs for executives and managers including the creation of curricula on Leadership, Ethics, Communication, Teams, Change, Organizational Dynamics, Mentoring, Training Trainers and Project Management. She implements and evaluates the effectiveness of these learning programs. Previous employers include Verizon, FairPoint Communications, Cazenovia Public Schools and Onondaga Community College. Ms. Smee is a certified teacher and has taught every grade K-12, she has also been a Middle School Principal in an alternative school for suspended and expelled students; and a High School Principal in a maximum secure prison for juvenile male felons. Ms. Smee earned her BA in Education from the University of Michigan; her MA in Educational Foundations is from Lesley University. Her post-graduate work includes courses at SUNY Cortland and Le Moyne College. In 2011 Springfield Technical College honored Kathleen Smee with an award for her success in connecting employees with college degree programs. As an instructor of on-line graduate courses at Granite State College, Ms. Smee combines her two passions: Teaching and Leadership. Ms. Smee’s skill in teaching derives from her awareness that the student’s curiosity is the most powerful motivator for learning. Discovering how the course curriculum connects to the student’s interests is the primary challenge for both the instructor and student. Ms. Smee establishes and maintains high expectations for all Granite State students. Individual differences will impact the time needed to master the body of knowledge, but all can achieve the learning goals. She currently teaches PM 810: Change Management & Communication. |

| Marc Spaulding, Ph.D.
Dr. Marc Spaulding comes to GSC as a highly skilled consultant to management who has worked with a wide variety of organizations in both the public and private sectors. With over twenty years of organizational consulting experience, Marc specializes in assisting executives with the design and implementation of effective Organizational and Leadership Development solutions to meet critical business needs. In addition to founding The Strafford Group, he worked for several leading global consulting firms, including IBM, CIBER, ODI, and Forum where he practiced leading-edge methods of leadership development, project management, and organizational change. Marc believes the purpose of teaching is to create an environment that both challenges and motivates each student to become fully engaged in the learning process. Empowering the student to take control of his/her own education, the instructor provides the tools, methods, and mental models which enable life-long learning. Marc earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from Bowling Green State University with a concentration in Change, Organizational Theory, and The Sociology of Work. Dr. Spaulding has served on faculty at both the graduate and undergraduate levels at schools like Boston University, University of Guam, and Ohio Northern University. He teaches PM 804: Leading Teams at Granite State College. |
