Health and Wellness (B.S.)

Apply your associate degree and/or advanced certification in allied health and wellness to a variety of bachelor’s degree level careers in health-related settings. With this degree, you can become a health and wellness professional in private business and industry, community organizations, and healthcare environments. Studies include health care practices, physical and psychological health, and program management strategies. Successful graduates will be able to administer effective programs that advance health and wellness goals. Specific careers may include: Clinical Manager, Senior Living Director, Wellness Coach, Health Promotion Advocate, Wellness Coordinator, Holistic Health Practitioner.

Students will:

  • identify and use evidence to guide planning and decision making.
  • analyze the legal, ethical, and policy contexts that shape health and wellness systems.
  • use a systematic approach and higher order thinking in responding to health related issues and societal needs.
  • apply scientific knowledge to health promotion.
  • integrate knowledge of culture and an appreciation for diversity in health related endeavors.
  • incorporate communication strategies to establish collaborative relationships with individuals, members of multidisciplinary teams, and other stakeholders.
  • develop, implement, and evaluate health and wellness strategies.
  • demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning in pursuit of excellence in the practice of a health and wellness profession.

Flexible delivery formats such as evening, online, hybrid, and weekend intensive courses ensure that the program is accessible to working adults of all ages. In addition, this degree allows a seamless transition from the associate to the baccalaureate degree.
