Early Childhood Education

Caring for and educating our children is one of our society's most important responsibilities. From infancy, nurturing environments enhance the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth of children. Qualified early childhood educators are in great demand.

Our Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education has been designed to provide a solid, thorough understanding of young children, as well as strategies to foster their development and well-being.

BS in Early Childhood Education:

This Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education prepares you to teach preschool children and/or direct a preschool center. Granite State College has created a model curriculum which addresses standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and includes:

Child Development and Learning.
Curriculum Development and Implementation.
Family and Community Relations.
Assessment.

Portfolio Requirement for Early Childhood Education Majors
Each student enrolled in an Early Childhood Education program at GSC is required to prepare a portfolio as part of the graduation requirement.
