Granite State College and Ossipee Main Street Program Partner to Present Empowering Program: 5 Simple Tools to Help You Succeed!
Workshop takes place Wednesday, November 17, 6-7:30pm at the Ossipee Main Street Building
Ossipee, NH – Granite State College will offer a free workshop designed to arm attendees with a better understanding of their skills and strengths, higher education opportunities and job and career opportunities – all in order to empower them to find fulfilling jobs, launch thriving careers or pursue higher education.
The free workshop, entitled 5 Simple Tools to Help You Succeed!, will take place Wednesday, November 17, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Ossipee Main Street Building at 15 Moultonville Road in Center Ossipee. The workshop is free and open to all members of the public.
The workshop will encourage attendees to consider their personal strengths, skills and interests in setting career goals and objectives. The workshop will also provide information about higher education opportunities, including identifying roadblocks – and strategies to move past those roadblocks – as well as discussion about marketing yourself and action planning.
“The workshop is something we’ve created in response to what we’ve seen in the communities we serve,” said Elaine Millen, Dean of Center Operations. “There are small communities across the state struggling with job loss. Workshops like these not only introduce members of the community to educational resources like Granite State College, but offer forums to discuss career and professional development. We hope this is simply the beginning of a long-term, impactful partnership with the community of Ossipee designed to empower its residents.”
Ossipee is about 30 miles from each of Granite State College’s Rochester and Conway campuses and GSC offers classes online, creating higher educational and degree opportunities for Ossipee residents.
“This is a key partnership for us to create,” noted Scott Merrow, executive director of the Ossipee Main Street Program. “We know that there is a need in Ossipee for higher educational opportunities, professional development and skills training. The proximity of Granite State College, its online class offerings and its focus on the adult student are advantages we should capitalize upon. We’re thrilled to begin our partnership with this workshop.”
