Senator Jeanne Shaheen visits Granite State College
GSC students, faculty and staff attended the October 21 educational forum
Rochester, NH - Granite State College welcomed Senator Jeanne Shaheen as a guest speaker to the Portsmouth-based American Government class on Thursday, October 21. The class was relocated to the brand new Rochester campus, at 35E Industrial Way, to accommodate those attending. At the educational forum, Senator Shaheen engaged with GSC students, faculty and staff to discuss a variety of topics related to American government and politics, including the purpose of separation of powers and checks and balances, the electoral processes for staffing public offices and the influence of the New Hampshire Presidential Primary on the national presidential election. The two-hour classroom conversation included a robust question-and-answer session about a variety of issues, including the military, veterans, the War on Terror and clean energy.
