Governor Maggie Hassan Signs Commendation for OLLI at GSC
OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) at Granite State College has received a commendation signed by Governor Maggie Hassan. In this commendation, the Governor recognizes OLLI’s tenth anniversary and addresses the increasing membership and quality of programs being offered to OLLI members and the communities at large in New Hampshire. The commendation strongly supports the following mission statement for OLLI:
"OLLI’s mission is to build a vibrant and sustainable member-led organization that creates and provides intellectually stimulating lifelong learning opportunities for individuals 50 and over. OLLI is a member-based organization that has matured into a primarily member-run organization. Ongoing program goals include providing first rate classes, achieving financial stability, expanding our community-partner presence, and making “OLLI at Granite State College” a household name in New Hampshire.”
The major event in celebration of OLLI’s 10th anniversary will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the Puritan Event and Conference Center in Manchester from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Mike Morin, well-known radio personality from WZID will be the Master of Ceremonies along with OLLI notables. Special awards and recognitions will be presented. OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) at Granite State College is a member-led organization that creates and provides intellectually stimulating lifelong learning opportunities for individuals 50 and above. The first OLLI in NH began in 2004 at Granite State College. OLLI holds classes in four locations across the state, including Manchester, Concord, Conway and the Seacoast.
